The work The European project and its need for transformation by Esteban del Campo Sierra wins the third edition of the Europa Jove Award
- A total of 55 Baccalaureate students have participated in the third edition of the contest organized by the European Commission and the Catalunya Europa Foundation
- The jury recognizes with two second prizes two analyzes on young people and the EU and on China as a global actor

The student Esteban del Campo Sierra, from Escola Manyanet Sant Andreu in Barcelona, ??is the winner of the third edition of the Europa Jove Award convened by the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona and the Catalunya Europa Foundation. His research work entitled The European project and its need for transformation was the most highly valued by the jury for the suitability of the topic and its fit with the bases, the quality of the research and the capacity for analysis.
The jury has also granted two accesses to the research works this year: The Chinese Footprint. Past, present and future of Mariona Mora Ortiz of the Matadepera Institute. The jury evaluates very positively the quality of the work and the chosen topic of great relevance in the current geopolitical context; and The European Union: what plan? The lack of knowledge of the EU among the young people of Ona Verdaguer Salvatella of the Palau Girona Montessori School. The jury highlights the purposeful nature of the work and the suitability of the topic to discuss young people and the EU.
Europa Jove Award
The Young Europe Award, organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona and the Catalunya Europa Foundation, is the first award that recognizes works by high school students on European issues with the aim of promoting knowledge, research and interest of young people for the reality of the EU. In this third edition, 55 works have been received from 52 centres. The author of the awarded research will receive €500 and the two winners will receive €250 each. They will also have the opportunity to travel to Brussels to learn about European institutions.
The Award Ceremony
The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 8 at 5 p.m., as part of the Europe Day celebrations (which takes place on May 9), at the headquarters of the Representation of the European Commission (Pg . of Gràcia, 90).
